We sailed at 8 am! Kind of cool and cloudy this morning and we’re just sailing today, so for now, the requisite food pics! If you know me, you will not wonder why the photos start with dessert.
Chuck’s Coffee ice cream float
Pamela’s apple tart
Dave’s kind of breakfast.
My kind of breakfast. The pastries here are amazing.
This coffee bar is available 24 hours. With pastries and cookies. Dangerous.
Wine and beer is complimentary with lunch and dinner. And they keep replenishing the wine in our room.
We passed this in our travels. No idea what it is but we thought it was pretty. Our well-traveled friend Deb Scroggie texted and guesses it’s an Eastern Orthodox church. We’ll check that out!
Chateaubriand, perch, crab cakes, pumpkin soup, bread pudding, chocolate lava cake were some of our choices at dinner. No food pics because these are better:
This is what happens when Chuckie tells me he can’t sleep and do I have any of the Kirkland Sleep Aid pills that I use occasionally. Yes, I did. (These are baby aspirin compared to the Ambien he usually takes). He slept through the night, so “you’re welcome!” He unfortunately also slept through most of today! He’s claiming that I drugged him but I think he’s just a lightweight!
Here’s how Dave spent part of the day…and he didn’t even take a sleepy pill! They did both manage to wake up for meals….
Then we sat with very nice people from Battle Creek at dinner. Kim and Jeff joined our team for Music Trivia in the lounge…and we won! Dave and Pamela were the MVP’s. We got 28 of 30 songs/artists correct. (And to think Dave named our group “Team Apathy” and Chuck suggested that our mascot should be a Sloth!) Our valuable prize was a tiny bottle of Palinka (very strong Hungarian liquor) and a large bottle of Prosecco. A tiny bit of that Palinka went a long way!😝
Here is the cruise director Benne, awarding us the Palinka.
To bed now (without sleepy pills) because tomorrow we’re in Vienna!
