Chuck & Pamela flew JAX to Washington DC to Vienna to BUD; we flew DTW to Amsterdam to BUD and we arrived in Budapest within 5 min of each other...with luggage!! Good job Viking, Delta, United & partners!
We’re at the Intercontinental Hotel for 2 nights before we get on the ship. Here is the view from our rooms:
This is the former royal palace that now houses several museums and the National Gallery.
Cloudy today. We are on the Pest side looking at the Buda side. This is the very famous Chain Bridge that is currently under construction!
Orientation then walking around the hotel and Pest area. Pest Vigado Square looking at the Vigado building. Loose translation: the place for fun. Concerts and plays happen here.
Streets of the city. We had dinner at a pub in the area. Then this dessert happened.
We did not sleep on the plane, so it’s an early night tonight. We’ve been up for about 32 hours. Good night!
